    One line Bio

Happily married father of 2 in Fallbrook

    Biography

My name is Ryan McQueen. I was born in San Diego, CA in 1980. My Mother and Father had separated, so my Mother, with my Grandmothers help, brought me home to my Grandmothers house in Point Loma, San Diego, CA. At some point, my Mom married my Stepdad and they moved to Escondido, I believe. From there we moved to Fallbrook, to the house that he built and finished in 1985. I lived there until I was in my 20’s and ventured out to live and support myself. Over the years, I kept in close contact with my dad, Bruce and my stepmother, Sonja. They have helped support me over the years and we've had lots of fun times.

After my failed attempts of living away from home, I married my wife, Monica in 2006. I moved into her apartment in La Jolla. We secretly ran off and got married in Las Vegas at a little wedding chapel across the street from the Stratosphere. We moved a couple times and have settled in Fallbrook, so we can be close to our parents. Prior to the move, we had Tyler Patrick McQueen and she was pregnant with Trevor Ryan McQueen. We have been living there since November of 2008.

I am now unemployed. I have been unemployed since May 6th 2009. I walked into work and my supervisor informed me that my services were no longer needed. I was in absolute shock and disbelief. So many things raced through my mind … What did I do wrong? What is my wife going to think? What am I going to do about work? Why did they let me go? We have a baby on the way, what am I going to do? I still have no idea why they let me go. Being an at-will employee sucked in the end. I was the 4th one to go in a short period of time. It seemed as though some changes were being made and I wasn’t going to get to be a part of it. I’m not happy that things happened the way they did. I made some mistakes but I considered myself a good employee. I am very thankful though that I was able to work there for 3.5 years. I was taken care of, for the most part and I did well at my job. I’ll miss so many of the employees. I wasn’t allowed to be friendly with the people where I worked. It was part of the position, so that we wouldn’t have a biased view if something were to happen with an employee. If I could, I would now befriend many of the people there. They were kind and I enjoyed talking with them. They may now know that I consider them friends.

The job market sucks but fortunately, I was eligible for unemployment and have helped support my family with that while I continue to look for work. I'm searching along with 67,000 other people in San Diego County. If I wanted sales, there is no end of opportunities. I don’t like bothering people and I don’t want to depend on a commissioned position to support my family. To support myself, that’s a different story, but now I have 3 others to look after. Wish me luck with my search. So far, it has been depressing.
